We’ll kick off Cub Scouts in August with an overnight stay at the Georgia Aquarium!

We have 25 spots reserved (the total number of spots available).

Sleeping Arrangements

We will be sleeping together as a group outside the large aquarium on the ground (think camping inside -- so not a fancy hotel)

TO SIGN UP: Complete the following steps  (I will notify once we are sold out. We will make refunds in the event spots fill before we can notify that we are full)

  1. Make Payment: $112.00 per person + $15 for parking (optional)   (pmt example: 1 scout, 1 parent, 1 parking pass = $239)

Parking and Check In
Georgia Aquarium’s physical address is: 225 Baker Street, NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30313

Check in: 6:45pm to 7:00pm

Park in the Aquarium Parking Deck

Take the blue Ocean’s Ballroom elevators to the second floor. Once on the second level, find the glass double doors and exit the parking deck. Take the stairs/ramp to your left and walk down Luckie St. towards Baker St. The Aquarium building will curve to your left. Continue walking down Luckie St. and make a left on Baker St. On your left, you will see the Group Entrance with big glass windows and glass double doors.  

What to bring

Sleeping mat provided, but you can also bring an inflatable mattress • sleeping bags • blankets • pillows • sweater or hoodie • PJ’s  • toothbrush and other small toiletries (Note: showers are not available) • battery powered phone charger • DO NOT BRING ANY FOOD (no gum allowed)

As you prepare for an unforgettable night at Georgia Aquarium, we want to provide you with some helpful information that will help you plan your visit. We will need to receive a completed waiver from all guests, adults and children, planning to participate in our Sleep Under the Sea Program.

 

*PLEASE, BE ADVISED THAT GUESTS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM UNTIL A FULLY COMPLETED FORM HAS BEEN SUBMITTED.*  

 

Guest name badges will be printed on Monday, August 12.  Guests must submit their mandatory participation forms by Sunday evening if they wish to receive a printed name badge.

 

 

GETTING TO GEORGIA AQUARIUM

PARKING

This deck is monitored by security overnight. The parking deck is located on the corner of Luckie St. & Ivan Allen.  Our official parking deck is seven stories tall and can be easily recognized by the large pictures of aquatic life on its exterior. 

 

ARRIVAL (6:30-6:45 PM) 

Once you park, take the blue Ocean’s Ballroom elevators to the second floor. Once on the second level, find the glass double doors and exit the parking deck. Take the stairs/ramp to your left and walk down Luckie St. towards Baker St. The Aquarium building will curve to your left. Continue walking down Luckie St. and make a left on Baker St. On your left, you will see the Group Entrance with big glass windows and glass double doors. The door is typically locked but please approach or knock and our security officer will open it for you.

 

SECURITY (6:45-6:50 PM)

All guests are required to go through security screening and will have their bags checked. Please, be advised that weapons (including but not limited to guns and knives), lighters, gum and other items considered dangerous to guests and our living collections are prohibited. To our law enforcement officers: Please be advised, unless you are currently on duty and dressed in uniform required by your position, you may not bring weapons inside the facility. 

REGISTRATION & LUGGAGE DROP OFF (6:50-7:00 PM)

Once you have gone through security, your next stop will be our Sleep Under the Sea Registration.  Here we will officially check you in for the evening. After Registration, you will be directed by sleepover staff into the Aquarium itself where you will be shown where to store your luggage. 

 

SLEEPOVER ORIENTATION (7:25 PM)

Orientation for the evening will take place at 7:30PM. At that time, we will review everything you need to know for the night and introduce you to your tour guides for the evening!

  

BEHIND THE SCENES TOURS (7:45-9:15 PM)

After orientation, each group will meet up with their designated tour guide to begin touring around Georgia Aquarium and will learn about our wonderful animals, their habitats and more!

 

SNACK (9:00-9:30PM)

Each group will reconvene in the rotunda for a light snack (chips and fruit snacks) before bedtime.

 

NIGHTTIME ORIENTATION (9:35 PM)

Groups will receive a quick review of our bedtime rules, sleeping locations, wake up times, luggage storage, breakfast, etc.      

 

GET READY FOR BED & LIGHTS OUT (9:45 – 10:15 PM)

After Nighttime Orientation, all guests will retrieve their luggage and personal belongings to get ready for bedtime. Tour guides will escort groups to their sleeping locations and make sure everyone is settled before lights out at 10:30 PM. Please, be advised that if you are a light sleeper, we recommend bringing ear plugs and a sleeping mask as there are still some sounds and lights on around the galleries while people work throughout the evening.

 

SLEEP (10:30 - 6 AM)

Once nestled in for bedtime, we hope you enjoy a restful night! We will see you in the morning…

 

WAKE UP, PACK UP AND GET READY FOR BREAKFAST (6:00 – 7:15 AM)

In the morning, tour guides will go around and gently wake up guests and remind them of their groups schedule for the morning and where to meet for luggage storage, breakfast, etc. Breakfast includes an egg and cheese croissant, French toast sticks, yogurt, apple juice, and fruit. Coffee and hot tea are available for the adults.

 

*Guests should plan to store luggage back in cars in the morning. 

 

MORE TOURING (7:45 - 9:00 AM)

There is still more to fun & exciting things to see around Georgia Aquarium! Tours will resume after the whale shark feed. 

 

PROGRAM ENDS (9:45 AM)

Groups are welcome to head home or stay and enjoy the rest of the facility and any other shows going on after their sleepover ends. Show times vary daily and our sleepover team will have the current times available, so your group can plan for the next morning!
